Podiatric Trade Alliance Launched

The UK's first podiatric trade alliance has been launched to work with leading professionals to help secure and enhance the future of the podiatry profession.

At an inaugural meeting on March 11th 22 representatives supported the venture, which will be officially named and launched as a private limited company in the next month. An additional ?? companies have expressed an intention to join the group.

"The members of the alliance represent a wide range of business interests including healthcare medication, equipment and even footwear, what we have in common, however, is a vested interest in the future development of the podiatry profession and foothealth industry," commented Tim Bailey, Chairman of the alliance. "For some time the voice of the trade has been, at best overlooked, at worst ignored, but we believe we are a powerful ally for the profession and want to forge dynamic and proactive partnerships with the leading professional bodies. The podiatry profession is facing an exciting and challenging era and we want to help guarantee its success so that our businesses too can flourish."

The group met at the headquarters of Cuxon Gerrard in Birmingham and voted in Tim Bailey as Chairman; Hans Bakker as Vice Chairman; Paul Barcroft as Secretary; Jamie Sheridan as Trade Communication Officer/Diarist and Mark Jagger as Treasurer.
